The Burton Albion Study Centre was purpose built within the Pirelli Stadium, home of Burton Albion Football Club, and opened its doors during September 2005.
The main aims of the Study Centre:
• To offer Key stage 2 and 3 children a weekly after school study session to help them with their study skills concepts and continue to develop their literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
• To help raise pupil achievement
• To raise self-esteem and confidence within the child and helping them to become more independent learners and workers
• To develop social skills and social awareness
The centre runs various programmes including:
- Study Support 3.30-7.30pm Monday - Thursday
- Healthy Living Programmes at the centre and within Primary and Secondary schools
- ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) 2 days a week for Year 11
- Polish integration within Staffordshire schools
Playing for Success is a national initiative aimed at raising levels of achievement with settings within a sporting environment.
