Chiltern Open Air Museum is set in a 45 acre site and is the home of over 30 historic buildings ranging from a replica Iron Age house to a 1947 prefab.

The main focus areas of the Museum are the built and social heritage of the Chiltern area. However some work is undertaken by the Museum and the Hawk and Owl Trust on environmental science.

The Museum offers a range of learning experiences for Foundation Stage to Key Stage 3 children including history and environmental sciences through cross-curricular activity workshops and resources.

Our main audience are nursery and primary school children, with a variety of family learning opportunities also. We aim to promote an inclusive, hands-on environment where all children are able to achieve.
