We offer Forest School programmes to external schools and nurseries. We deliver training countrywide as well as at our Bridgwater College site.

The Children's Centre at Bridgwater FE College has developed an innovative approach to learning.  Children in their pre-school year attend Forest School in their own nearby woodland, they attend in all weathers.

The ethos and delivery style ensures all planned experiences are designed to raise self esteem and independence skills. Children learn through the mastery of small achievable goals and whilst having fun they do not realise they are working towards the nationally recommended Early Years Foundation Stage.  The curriculum is planned to be progressive, the longer they attend the more challenging the experiences become.

Groups of children are set at the start of each academic year based on nursery key working families.  Once parental consent is given the children begin their journey of outside learning. A familiar keyworker, Forest School Assistant and Forest School Leader work with the children during every Forest School session.  Safety of the children is paramount and risk assessment and safety equipment and resources form an integral part of every session.

Forest School is included within our Ofsted inspection, and the quality of learning opportunities has been recognised.

Early Years Students work with the Children Centre children to gain the nationally accredited Level 2 Btec Assistant Forest School Leader Award.

The College delivers both Level 1 and Level 3 Btec Forest School qualifications as well as a range of Level 1 - 5 Early Years professional qualficaitions.
