Learning Locally
This is the first funded project that will allow trainee teachers to complete a placement within the Wandsworth Museum, work with the education team and use the resources for their own lesson planning. This project is funded by the MLA and is linked with SCITT.
The hope is that trainees and mentors will be inspired during their placements and produce a resource that they will take into placement schools. Primary School pupils will have the opportunity to learn about their local area through SCITT contact with resources that have not been accessible since the previous museum closed in 2007.

ITT and Libraries: Literature Matters
The overarching theme of the project was to support the development of independent reading in classrooms with a particular emphasis on diversity. Planning with the University tutors was key to the success of the project and the time invested in achieving a clear understanding of the course requirements was essential for SLS staff. University staff similarly appreciated gaining a clearer understanding of the offer that libraries are able to make and the value of the professional expertise available to students.
